Broken Hearts Day at the Capitol with Parkland Commemoration

Protect Minnesota’s annual Lobby Day will be on Thursday, February 14, the first anniversary of the Parkland school shooting. Participants will meet with their elected representatives to deliver “Broken Hearts Valentines” and encourage their support for expanded criminal background checks and passing the Red Flag law. Then at 2:30pm we’ll gather with students from MN March For Our Lives in the Rotunda to commemorate the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland Florida.

Email raphael@protectmn.org as soon as possible so we can set up your appointments with legislators. Also email Raphael if you can volunteer to help others get to their appointments.

9:00am – 2:00pm
Participants will arrive at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 285 Dale Street N, in St. Paul, one hour before their earliest appointment to receive information and training. You can park at the church and take our shuttle to the Capitol complex. Volunteers will accompany groups to their legislators’ offices. After their meetings, participants will fill out brief reports about what they learned from their representatives.
