Friday the House of Representatives will discuss and debate HF1500, the House bill to Restore Driver’s Licenses for all Minnesotans of age, regardless of immigration status.
Black, white or Brown, rural or city, newcomer or long-time resident, every Minnesotan deserves the ability to connect to family, work, school and community. Most Minnesotans know that strong, caring communities, licensed drivers and working families help create the state we all need to thrive. Years ago, driver’s licenses were taken from some of our families by a few politicians who used fear and division to pass a discriminatory law.
But today, legislators, law enforcement, faith leaders, community activists and supporters on both sides of the political aisle are declaring that this is the year to restore driver’s licenses for all! It’s time to honor the dignity of every family. Minnesota is Ready to do the right thing.
Let’s show up in record numbers again so that it is clear that we stand together and are ready to get this done for all Minnesotans!
