Harriday speaks race to Lakeville school board

Thea Harriday, mom to several children who graduated from the Lakeville, Minn. school district, speaks to the members of the ISD 194 school board about race in the wake of several incidents of harassment of students.

Harriday’s message is powerful and a must-watch.

Also in attendance, but not participating in the meeting, were state legislative candidates Maggie Williams (58A – Lakeville), who spoke on the same subject at the meeting two weeks before, and Dr. Alice Mann (56B – areas of Lakeville and Burnsville).

The entirety of the January 23, 2018 Lakeville school board meeting can be viewed here on the District 194 site. It includes a lengthy presentation on what the schools are doing in the area of diversity.

Get to recognize members of the school board so you can interact with them in public. As a site for activists, we encourage all of our visitors to seek to help shape government at all levels and even run for office themselves. In that spirit, we also show the remaining length of the terms of the current board.
