The Open Door has an urgent need for volunteers at several Pop-Up Produce and Mobile Pantry senior living community sites.
This is a great opportunity for small groups. Gather your co-workers or group of friends and “adopt” a site. These are large distributions and require at least four volunteers to run smoothly. Individual volunteers are also needed.
Help them bring fresh, healthy food to even more seniors and families in Dakota County.

The Open Door’s Mobile Pantry program is feeding more people closer to home each week. It recently served more than 1,800 people and distributed nearly 11 tons of food – in one day!
In addition to the ongoing volunteer opportunities above, the Open Door is also planning expand at two of its current sites. Its goal this winter is to move two of its Lakeville distributions from its mobile bus into an indoor space, allowing it to serve more people in less time.
In order to do so, it need to make sure it has enough volunteers to run these sites.
If you’re interested in helping feed more seniors this winter at these upcoming locations, please contact Veronica Lind, Volunteer and Client Services Coordinator, at email@example.com or 651-368-5756.
Looking for a one-time volunteer opportunity? The Open Door also needs volunteers to help with its Harvest Dinner, a celebration of the end of the season for Garden to Table clients. The Harvest Dinner will be held Thursday, October 17 and there are a number of volunteer roles available.
Volunteers ARE The Open Door and it could not do its work without you. Thank you from it for considering these opportunities to help it offer fresh and healthy food to even more people.
