Stay Home/Stay Active – Connect, Educate, Participate, Organize

Learn about issues and draw attention to causes you support, engage with elected officials and candidates, and meet like-minded people. All the events we list, unless otherwise stated, are open to the public. There is strength in numbers- lets get out and show what we feel is important to pay attention to.

Grab a friend and get involved, engaged and in action!  Know of an event you don’t see here? Email us at cd2action@gmail.com

ACLU of Minnesota Lobby Day @ Minnesota State Capitol
Mar 10 @ 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Join other ACLU of Minnesota supporters on March 10, 2020, as we take our fight for civil liberties to the state Capitol.

ACLU-MN Day at the Capitol will open with a rally in the state Capitol Rotunda at 1:30 p.m. Afterwards we’ll break up into small groups, each guided by a Lead Volunteer, and we will talk to our individual legislators about key civil rights legislation up for a possible vote this year.

We will push legislators to:

— Protect email privacy.
— Require warrants for drone surveillance by police.
— Fix a broken forfeiture system that encourages law enforcement
to “police for profit.”
— Stop the wealth-based suspension of driver’s licenses for traffic
tickets and fees, and require courts to consider someone’s ability
to pay before assessing excessive fines and fees.

*All Lobby Day participants get a free ACLU-MN T-shirt!*

If you live in Southern Minnesota, we have FREE bus service that will bring you to the Capitol for Lobby Day. The bus will stop in Worthington, St. James, Mankato and St. Peter.

Breakfast and box lunches will be provided to all bus passengers.
